Coaching Tips
- Focus on landing softly with both feet together, bending knees to absorb impact.
- Keep eyes on the ball throughout each jump to maintain a flat racket face.
Make it easier
- Remove the racket and ball—just perform the directional jumps.
Make it harder
- Timed challenge: how many jumps can you do in 30 seconds without dropping the ball?
Safety
Remember, you can use the STEP framework – Space, Time, Equipment, and People – to adapt any activity, making it easier or more challenging to suit your players.
Always check there’s enough space for everyone to participate safely, and make sure any under-18s are wearing protective goggles during the session.
