Coaching Tips
- Stay on the balls of your feet for quick movement.
- Engage your core to maintain balance and stability.
- Step far enough so knee remains over foot; avoid overreaching.
- Use soft hands on the racket to cushion the catch.
Make it easier
- Use a sponge ball and allow a two-handed catch.
Make it harder
- Require racket‐hand catches only.
- Feeder throws further or uses deceptive release.
Safety
Remember the STEP framework—Space, Time, Equipment, People—to adapt difficulty.
Ensure clear space and that under-18s wear protective goggles.
